Даты
В отличие от русского языка, в английском годы обозначаются количественными числительными следующим образом:
o 1900 — nineteen hundred;
o 1905 — nineteen five; nineteen hundred and five; nineteen hundred о (ou] five;
o 1917 — nineteen seventeen;
o 2000 —two thousand.
Для обозначения дат, соответствующих годам до нашей эры или годам нашей эры, применяются сокращения B.C. и A.C. Например:
55 B.C. = 55 год до Poждества Христова (до н.э.)
370 A.D.= 370 год от Рождества Христова (н.э.).
