My Best Teacher Award
Thinking back to the thirteen years I spent in grade school preparing myself for college its hard to pick out one teacher than I would consider “my best teacher.” There are always teachers that stand out for some reason or another, whether it maybe because of their personality, field trips they go on, or all the holiday party fun had in their class. However, the teacher that that I chose deserving of the “My Best Teacher” award I still remember because of the care she showed to each of her students through her personality, the field trips she took us on, and the all the fun had in her class. This teacher is my first grade teacher, Mrs. Hunter. I moved to my hometown Riverview, Michigan, right before I entered the first grade. Going into my first year of school knowing no one was very scary, yet Mrs. Hunter made me feel like I fit right in. She treated our class like we were apart of her family, which in turn made everyone feel at home and get along without the usual school cliques. One of the most memorable times in Mrs. Hunter’s class was when she took the entire class on a field trip to her house and really showed us who she was and how much she care about her students and the people they really are. Even when it came to dressing up for our Halloween party, she dressed up and went all out, where as most teachers do not even feel the need to dress up. Looking back now I can see how much she really cared for all of us and to this day I can see her somewhere and she will remember exactly who I am like I was just in her class. Going from by best teacher back in elementary school, to my most effective teacher I would have to definitely chose a teacher that had an effect on the rest of my life. The most effective teacher I have ever had was my eleventh and twelfth grade chemistry teacher, Mrs. Smith. I can honestly say that she was the most effective teacher because I chose to be a science major in the elementary education field because of her. She made chemistry, a boring and difficult subject to most people, fun and interesting. Mrs. Smith knew what it was like to be a high school student and could relate to all of us, which showed through her teaching. Chemistry became much easier to understand and figure out when she would sit down with you and make sure that every concept being taught was being understood by each individual. She cared whether or not each student got the material and could do the work on their own. Instead of just doing experiments just to simply exaggerate what was being taught, she would think of very hands on experiments that were fun and interesting, such as making bouncy balls and tie dying t-shirts. It was very easy to see that Mrs. Smith loved what she was doing and that love transferred over to the students too. Both of these teachers have many of the same qualities which is the reasoning behind why I chose both of them. The way they showed their love for teaching and their love for their students through their teaching has gradually made me want to become a teacher. I now see the difference they have made in my life which in turn makes me want to do the same for others. The love of what your doing transfers into other which inspires them to do better. Through this I have found that there are many very good teachers throughout my life but having many teachers that were effective in their teachings are very slim. Mrs. Smith was a one in a million teacher who made me want to learn more and share how exciting science can be with others. I still today remember what she has taught me whereas most teacher taught me to remember everything just long enough to take the test.

Henrey treated each and every student like they were special. Mrs. Henrey acted as if all of her students were her children. She called us her daughters and sons on many occasion. She also showed us that we were special by her actions. At the beginning of every class we all got to share a happy moment that happened in the past day. This part of class was always my favorite because it was always so positive and it forced you to look on the brighter side of things. At the end of each semester, Mrs. Henrey gave every student a piece of paper that had her personal email and her phone number on it. Also on the paper was a note explaining that when we went to college, if there ever something that we needed we could email her and ask for her help. She told us that even if we were having a bad day and we wanted so homemade cookies, she would send us some…

First I want to tell you with whom I honor, with whom I have, learned to respect, and who deserve the outmost admirations. The teachers I am talking about work hard to do a great job, because, above all, it is a kind of responsibility so to speak towards their students and relevantly toward themselves. I have had several teachers in my years as a student both in the primary and secondary schools among which there were only few whom I felt to fit the description above, maybe most of them were good in their own way, but one cannot be sufficient in all ways or I may also have misunderstood them. However, the teacher that I chose as deserving of the “My Favorite Teacher” earned this title due to the care she showed to each of her students through her teaching, personality, and the all the fun had in her class is Ms. Fleming my writing teacher. Ms. Fleming is an open minded, caring person who seemed to love what she is doing. Ms. Fleming is more than a teacher to me; she is a person you could go to with a problem and she would try and help you find the answer. She would help you, but expected you to put the work into finding out for yourself how to do something. She always came across as someone who cared about every student as if they were her “children”. Ms. Fleming is like a book that gives you the right information that would help you on getting a six on the FCAT writing. About 95% of her student’s agree that Ms. Fleming spent each day preparing us for the FCAT writing in thirteen days. The first time I walked into the classroom I notice a flaming red headed teacher sitting down. I thought that she would be a boring, and mean teacher giving her student’s a lot of homework and essays to write. Every word that comes out of her mouth sounds like music to my brain. When it comes to teaching she doesn’t let out a lot of stress, most of the stress comes from whether or not her student’s would receive a four or higher on the FCAT writing. When I’m in class Ms. Fleming have…

One name in particular stands firm among others and that is Mr. Jesse L. Barrett. Mr. Barrett was my English II Honors teacher my sophomore year in high school. Sadly, he was only my English teacher for one year. I honestly could not have asked for a better teacher. At the same time as making me smile and laugh, he ultimately helped me to be successful in life. Initially, I did not enjoy English as much anymore due to a bad string of teachers who lectured endlessly on random topics other than English. He changed my outlook on life and helped me regain my passion for English. Mr. Barrett motivated me to not settle for mediocre work and to do my absolute best in anything I strived for. I never imagined that I would encounter a teacher that was as meticulous as Mr. Barrett. Everything he did had a specific place and order. He never accepted late work because we were in an honors class that required you to be punctual. This taught me how to be prompt, a skill that will help when I attend college next fall.…

You're one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. English and writing played a part, but the way you taught and related to kids on their level was pretty awesome to watch. I thought it was funny how you'd go off subject at a moment's notice and I remember you even bringing up two of my favorite subjects in class - Punk Rock and graffiti. I was especially impressed by your broad-mindedness and unrelenting support for the underdog.…

Throughout my life, I have moved three times, lived in two different states, and been to five different schools. From these experiences, I have had the opportunity to meet a variety of different people, for this I am very grateful. I consider my first memories to have started when my family and I moved to Overland Park Kansas. The excitement of living in a new neighborhood, and house, was almost unbearable for my younger self. Once we moved in, I had a chance to explore the new surroundings and meet some of my best childhood friends. I also enjoyed six wonderful years in Elementary school. However, once middle school started, I observed the adoption of a more competitive atmosphere and the abandonment of standard teaching methods. This shift…

Memorable teachers are not the ones, who are the most pleasant to their students, but they are not the toughest ones either, they are the one that make you work for your knowledge, and you appreciate it, naturally much later in life. Mrs. Wright was very kind, compassionate, and honest no matter what the subject was or how she thought we were doing in school. She would always search for ways on how someone could improve. She has the skills to make you want to perform better, and continuously work to improve. This teacher had the passion to teach, and loved working with students, wonderful and necessary qualities to hold. She was eager to do whatever it took for a student to be successful, and to succeed in his or her classes. She always had a positive attitude, and strived for success. She would always say hello, ask about your day, tell you to have a wonderful day no matter what the day bring or crosses your path. She knew, and learn quickly that I have test anxiety, knew I always studied for hours on end, knew I knew the answers too, but once a test was placed before me, my mind would go blank, still does to a degree. She taught me some great testing strategies, ones that I still use day. This teacher was very inspirational, and gave you the courage to strive for success. Something I hope to match in my teaching…

She has to deal with kids kicking and screaming all day (she works as an endercroin nurse and sticks needles in kids arms). But even with the kids screaming and kicking she still gets about 95% of them in kids viens on the first try. Missy also wears scrub tops that have Disney characters to work every day so the kids have something to look at when she is doing a test on them.
