WillI/he/she/it/we/they be
to be:

Howare you?

Areyou often in town?

How much  is it?

Неis a teacher.

Iam cold.

I am = I'm              we are = we're

he is = he's             you are = you're

she is = she's          they are = they' re

It is = It's

В отрицательной формеPresent Indefiniteупотребляются следующие сокращения глаголаto be:
I am not = I' m not

he is not = he's not

she is not = she's not

it is not = it's not

we are not = we're not

you are not = you're not

they are not = they're not
to have

we have           у нас есть...

Peter has          у Петра есть...

You have… — Have you...?

— Do you have a ..? ?

-Yes, I  do.

-No, I  do not  (=don't)      —

I haven't a pen (I have not a pen).

Ihave no pen.

I have notime.

I have nomoney.

has supper
after six.

Wehave a good time in

summer.

to have supper    ужинать      to have a talk     поговорить

       to have a smoke
   to have a good

to have a swim    поплавать     (bad) time       проводить время

I havea good watch.

5. Вместо глаголаto haveв настоящем времени -I have, he hasи т.д. — в разговорной речи часто употребляется модель -I've got (I have got), he's got (he has got),где, не имеющий смыслового значения, глаголgot(прошедшее время) лишь придаетэмоциональный оттенок речи: есть!

I've gota large library.=

= I  have a large library.

to do

Не меньшую популярность, чем глаголыto be, to haveимеет в английском языке глагол(to) do

I domy work well.

Do youspeak English?

Does he speakFrench?

Does she smoke?

-Yes, I smoke.                      —

-         Yes, he smokes (cigars).  —

— Yes, I do.         -Да.— No, I don't.

— Yes, he does.     -Да.— No, he doesn't.

Heзабывайте: глаголto doупотребляется в качестве смыслового глагола в значенииделать:

1do it well.

Неdoes it carelessly.

Kate plays chess, but I don't.

 = (I don't play chess)

Вопросы типа:Do you know Peter?— Знаете ли вы Петра?

Do you want tea or coffee?— Вы хотите чай или кофе? -

1.Do you teach J Peter, or ~\ Max?

2.Do you want J tea, or ~\ coffee?

3Do Bess and Kate come home early or late?
Disjunctive Questions

+not +Местоим.(вместоподлеж.)

Kate isn't an engineer, is she?

Mike hasn't a dog, has he? These girls are not playing, are they?

а) если первая часть вопроса утвердительная, вторая — отрицательная и наоборот;

-Yes, I do(ед. ч.).            -Yes, we are(мн. ч.).

-She is not (isn't) very   — Она не очень занята,

busy, is she?

-No, she is not (isn't).           —

-Sasha is a good student, isn't he?— Саша хороший студент, не так ли?

-Yes, he is.                       Да.

Примечание.В английском языкепо может стоятьтолько в отрицательном ответе,ayes -вутвердительном ответе, в то время как в русском языке да может стоять в отрицательном ответе, анет — в утвердительном. Например;

-Kate is my sister, isn't she?

-But she isn't (=No, she isn't).

-Nick isn't a good student, is he?   -  But he is.

-
Do
you speak English?             -Yes, Ido.

-No, Idon't.

Didhe go to China last year?      — No, he didn’t. –

–Yes, he did.

Does she play volleyball?           — Yes, she does.

— No, she doesn’t.

Can they swim?                          — Yes, they can.

-  No, they can’t.

man(человек),house(дом),face(лицо),book(книга),joy(радость),ship (корабль),town(город),wheat[wi:t] (пшеница).

help    — помощь  to help   -помогать   jump   — прыжок   to jump  — прыгать work   — работа                to work  — работать light    — свет, освещение, огонь, фонарь,   to light   — зажигать(ся).

I light the candle.

Light is necessary for living matter.

Неlives in a light, warm room.

the light lamp         светлая лампа

teach-er, whit-ness, child-hood, friend-ship, dictation

-er; -or:a worker{рабочий},
a
writer(писатель},
a
director, a sailor(моряк), аtranslator(переводчик),a lawyer(адвокат).

 development(развитие),agreement(соглашение),government         (правительство).

         typist(машинистка),cyclist (велосипедист).

       happiness(счастье),kindness(любезность),            goodness      (доброта),darkness(темнота),quickness   (быстрота).

  — tion, — sionconnection(связь),restriction(ограничение),attestation (аттестация),invitation(приглашение),dictation(диктант),decision (решение),discussion(обсуждение).

freedom(свобода),wisdom(мудрость).

activity(деятельность)

chidhood(детство),neighbourhood(соседство).

leadership(руководство),friendship(дружба),

                liberalism ['liberalizm](либерализм),separatism

Proper Nouns and Common Nouns

London, Peter, John Smith.

There isa library in this street.

There are very many libraries     В Москве очень много библиотек. in Moscow.

Coal[koul] is produced in many

districts of our country,

Knowledgeis power.

in each hand.

Our house is built ofbrick.

It is a good wine.

Hisspeeches are always

interesting.

a girl-friend             -подруга

a boy-friend           -друг

a woman-worker      -работница

a Tom-cat            -кот

books [buks], desks [desks], maps [maeps].

Например:textbooks, schoolboys, housewives, postmen, custom-houses, hotel-keepers

4. К неисчисляемым существительным относятся названия веществ и материалов:silver [silva]серебро;hair [hea]волос, волосы;snow [snou]снег;air [еа] воздух, атмосфера;iron ['aian]железо (элемент);salt [solt]соль;sugar  сахар; а также абстрактные понятия, например:love [iav]любовь;life [laif]жизнь;

This spoon is made of silver.

The silverof which the spoon is made is expensive.

Не gave me some good advice. We have very little information on this subject. I am satisfied with your progress. This money belongs to him.

Fruit is cheap in summer,

We eat a great deal of fruit.

man  мужчина            men [men]мужчины

woman  женщина       women [wimin]женщины

child  ребенок             children  дети

memorandum                           memoranda

phenomenon  явление             phenomena
