Thin Ice

drifting

why can’t i get back

towering fools

childs play

it burns aside

convenient pains

it rains outside

the room comes to life

sparkling stars

in the others eyes

honesty on thin ice

inside it’s a mess

locking me out

you’re never free

it begins to clear

no one else is here

yet i still begin to care

the shimmering lights

bend in the heat

i still can’t believe

i’m so close to finding myself

and i slip again

the cracks are wider

no longer spread apart

my soul leaks through my fingertips

into the water

melting with the ice

i’ll never find it

but now i no longer care
