First Love

In the dark, on my bed, I sit, alone.

Fleeting memories of a happy time,

Back when I talked for hours on the phone

With that one that would forever be mine.

Those sweet I love you’s echo through my mind

Oh how they twist my heart and make me cry

Answers to my questions, I wish to find.

You said that you loved me, then left. Why?

I remember when we shared our first kiss

I remember when I held you so near

Your love is something I will surely miss

One day, all our memories will be dear

For now I cannot sleep and will not be

In love with someone who doesn’t love me.
