High Blood Pressure.

 High blood pressure, which is also known as hypertension, is an increase in the blood pressure.

 Causes of this disease are some medications like appetite suppressant?s, alcohol use, excess salt, anxiety or stress.

 It is believed that 30%-60% of case is tied to genes and therefore inherited.

 It is estimated that 1 in every 5 adults or around 50 million people have high blood pressure.

 H.B.P is more prevalent in women.

 It has killed over 35,000 Australians in 1992 and was the main contributor to deaths from stroke and heart failure.

 The death rate from hypertension has declined by 8.6% between 1982 and 1992.
