An epic is a long narriative peom about the adventures of a legendary or historic hero. The hero is a figure is high social status, one with great strenght or ability, and historical importance. There are many characteristics one must demonstrate ti be considered an epic hero. An epic hero is a brave and courageous warrior, admired for his achievements and courageous qualities. He is chivalrous, able to fight enemies with prode and not afraid to die for his country and people. This particular hero, Beowulf, puts the welfare of others before his own.
