A totalitarian system of government is a one party dictatorship where the government has complete and total control over the lives of its citizens and the society. This system of government influences the citizens of a nation because citizens lose all control over their lives with government controlling every aspect of business, family life, labor, housing, education, the arts, religion, and youth groups. Anyone who opposed totalitarian rule faced police terror. Citizens were forced to rely on mass communication from radios, newspapers, loudspeakers, etc. to receive propaganda. With propaganda, citizens didn’t hear the full truth, only the story they were being exposed to.
