Лекция: Отрицательные местоимения (Negative Pronouns)

1. Отрицательные местоимения no, none, neither, none, nobody, nothing, nowhere служат для отрицания наличия предмета, признака, качества.

2. Местоимения no, neither употребляются как определение со значением отрицания перед существительным (без артикля или других местоимений).

3. В английском отрицательном предложении возможно только одно отрицание, поэтому используется либо отрицательное местоимение, либо отрицательная частица not при глаголе (no = not a или not any).

Примеры. 1. I have no lectures today

(= I haven’t any lectures today).

2. I know nothing about money laundering (отмывание денег) (=I don’t know anything …).

3. When I came in, I saw nobody

(= … I didn’t see anybody).

4. None of these people are English.
